Rituals create the beginning

Each year, we give our clients an end-of-year assignment that sets them up to start the new year powerfully. We want to offer it to you, too. Let’s make it a Happy New Year!

END OF YEAR ASSESSMENT:

  1. Write down a list of all you are proud of accomplishing in 2024. Make it a nice long list. I started by writing down about 25 things, then I looked through my pictures from 2024 and added quite a bit to my list that I had forgotten. That was fun. I did it with my daughter, and we read our lists to each other, reminding us of things we could add. It is important to remember how much you got right. Source this list when self-doubt pops up in 2025.

  2. Then make a list of all of your failures in 2024. What did you go for and fail at? What did you not go for that you knew you wanted to and thus failed at? This list was not as long, which is refreshing but also a sign that I can go for more in 2025. Failures are a great sign that we played a big game.

  3. Use your accomplishments and failures to create your dreams for 2025. You get another chance if you want something but don’t get it in 2024. What was your learning so that you can be smarter and ensure you add it to your proud list at the end of the year? Use your accomplishments to remind yourself that you do know how to set an intention and follow through on your goal.

  4. Burn the list of your failures. This is where the ritual gets fun. We took ours outside, forgave ourselves, and burned the failures. We are not taking feeling bad and shame into 2025 for any failures in 2024. We played music that inspired us, ate a mandarin for health and sweetness, and then I jumped into the cold pool to wash 2024 off and start fresh and exhilarated.

    I am alive and ready to thrive in 2025!
